Prayagraj

Prayagraj holds the Triveni Sangam, one of Hinduism's holiest confluences. The Kumbh Mela, colonial heritage, and riverside rituals define this stop on the circuit.

Where three rivers meet

The sangam — confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati — draws millions during Kumbh years and steady pilgrimage traffic every other day. Boatmen ferry visitors to the sandbar where the waters visibly differ in colour. The Triveni Sangam is the reason most travellers come; the Allahabad Fort and Anand Bhavan anchor the city's Mughal and modern political history.

Faith and sandstone

From the reclining Hanuman at Bade Hanuman Mandir to the sacred Akshayavat within the fort, Prayagraj layers devotion onto stone. Khusro Bagh offers a quieter Mughal garden walk away from the river crowds.
